An Interview with Jarrod Musick
Where are you originally from?
What is the best book you have read this year?
The Happiness Hypothesis - it is a great study of what contributes to happiness. It examines major religions, philosophical teachings, and cultural norms and traditions to find the commonalities between them and discuss what truly leads to happiness.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Spending time with my family, spending time outdoors running, hiking, fishing and hunting, and obstacle course racing in events like Spartan Race and Tough Mudder.
What is the best trip you have ever been on?
This is so difficult to choose the very best one, but I would have to say, Costa Rica. Spending a week in the interior hiking volcanoes and rainforests, kayaking, zip lining, and staying in a secluded rainforest resort was truly unique. Costa Rica is beautiful and full of wonderful people.
Is there anything you would like to mention about your family, yourself, or in general?
Life is about balance and finding meaning and joy in what we do. I am very fortunate to have the wonderful family I do, and to work with great clients at Destiny Capital. I find joy in the people I spend my time with at home and the office every day. I also love my crazy obstacle course workouts and races. Have to balance the normal with the crazy!
Any podcast recommendations?
Tim Ferriss - a master at interviewing interesting people from a wide variety of fields. His podcast helps me expand my mental horizons.
What are five things you cannot live without?
My Kids - Callie and Ryan
Regular time in nature
What is your favorite thing to do for our clients?
I love helping clients solve complex problems and building systems that let them focus on things other than the day to day operations for their money.
