An Interview with Megan Reinkemeyer

Where are you originally from?
Wardsville, Missouri - It is a small town of about 1,500 people just outside of the state's capital, Jefferson City. I have always loved the mountains, so I jumped on the opportunity to move to Colorado right after college.

What is the best book you have read this year?
The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. The book was written based on interviews with a Holocaust survivor, Ludwig (Lale) Sokolov. On a trip to Poland last year, we visited the memorial site of Auschwitz and Birkenau. Since that visit, it has made reading books about the Holocaust and WWII even more vivid for me. Lale's story was incredibly moving and heartbreaking. While this history is hard to read, I think it is important to hear their stories.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Eating ice cream, weekend mountain trips, working on DIY projects, cooking with my fiance, and drinking wine on a patio with friends.

What is the best trip you have ever been on?
Last year I went on a Pilgrimage to Poland with two of my best friends and 30 other women. We traveled all over the country visiting churches, learning about some amazing saints, and immersing ourselves in the Polish culture. The country of Poland has weathered so many hardships and you could really feel the history of the country walking through the cities. I grew so much on this trip spiritually and it was such a joy to travel with two of my best friends.

Is there anything you would like to mention about your family, yourself, or in general?
2019 has been a big year for me! I started working at Destiny Capital. While I may be new to Destiny Capital, I am not new to the industry as I have been advising complex families for 4 years. In addition to my job change, my best friend of three years proposed! Nate and I are enjoying the season of engagement and are eagerly awaiting May 2020 when we get to tie the knot!

What are five things you cannot live without?
Prayer
Quality Time With The People I Love
A Cup of Coffee to Kick Start My Day
Ice Cream
Pizza
