An Interview with Renee Khandelwal
Where are you originally from?
What is the best book you have read this year?
Educated by Tara Westover. It left me deeply moved. The vulnerability of this woman in sharing her soul's journey to persevere in a life filled with seemingly insurmountable challenges and still fulfill her life's purpose was amazing. It reminded me that knowledge is power, learning takes time and experience, boundaries are important and the only true obstacles to success are the ones you place on yourself.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
First and foremost spending quality time with my daughter, husband, friends and family. I love practicing yoga, reading, hiking, making kombucha, cooking, exploring Colorado and the world, Pilates, meditating, making malas, gardening and trying new things!
What is the best trip you have ever been on?
I love to travel and can't really say one trip was better than another. However, when I was 4 my parents took me to India to visit our family there for the first time. Although I was young, I remember that trip vividly and it left an imprint in my mind and heart. It taught me that we are all created equally, we crave the same joys in life, we need the same things to survive and happiness is universal. Most importantly, it taught me that there are many ways to live a beautiful life, which has made every trip that much more valuable.
Is there anything you would like to mention about your family, yourself, or in general?
I'm a proud mama to a joyful, sweet daughter Maya and wife to my best friend Anil. We also have a fur-baby (dog) we adopted named Mika.
